Wazee Prove Too Wise For Vijana!

This year's Wazee Vs Vijana match failed to throw up any surprises as Wazee, backed by experience and wisdom, kept up what has now become tradition, convincingly beating Vijana, 27-14.
The annual match pitting the club's veteran players against the youthful, more energetic upstarts, was an entertaining and hotly contested encounter that attracted a large crowd to the club grounds at Nairobi Railway Club on Saturday, 16th January 2010.

Meanwhile, the Ladies Vs Veterans match, dubbed "Beauties Versus the Beasts" takes place this Saturday, 23rd January 2010 at the Railway Club. Results in this space next week!
Mwamba Toasts 2009 Achievers
The Annual Club Dinner and Awards ceremony was held on Saturday 16th of January 2010 where the club recognized achievers from the 2009 season.
Speaking at the ceremony, club Chairman, Mwangi Muthee extolled the 2009 achievers and reminded club members, both players and non-players to live the values of the Mwamba club and never to forget what it means to put on the black jersey.
The following were awarded prizes for the 2009 season:
Top Points scorer, 1st XV: Tito Oduk
Top Points scorer, 2nd XV: Timothy Muruka
Top Try scorer, 1st XV: Horace Otieno Owiti
Top Try scorer, 2nd XV: Dennis Ombachi
Most Valuable Player, 1st XV: Louis Kisia
Most Valuable Player, 2nd XV: David Watts Oluoch
Most Improved Player: Kennedy Mumo
Life Achievement Award: Dave Mshila, Pritt Nyandat
Clubman Of The Year: Edwin Teya
Chairman's Award: Alvas Onguru

Rombo appointed Head Coach
The Club Executive Committee is pleased to announce the appointment of Edward Rombo
as the club Head Coach. Rombo,
the first Kenyan to play professional rugby league and
arguably the finest rugby player Kenya has ever produced, takes
charge immediately.
Rombo, who previously coached the Kenya National 7s team has been the club 7s coach and
led Mwamba to two successive National 7s championships in 2007 and 2008.
