MWAMBA PREPARE TO HOST KABEBERI SEVENS

Kabeberi SevensThe Western Union 2009 Kenya Rugby Football Union National Sevens Circuit comes to the penultimate stage on Saturday when Mwamba host the Kabeberi Sevens.

The George Mwangi Kabeberi Memorial Sevens, held in honour of former Mwamba player George Mwangi Kabeberi who died in 1986, will this year be held at the Rugby Football Union of East Africa grounds.

Mwamba RFC have in recent years established themselves as a sevens powerhosue, and are the current National Sevens Circuit defending champions. Kenya Sevens players including the 2008/2009 IRB Sevens World Series top try scorer Collins Injera, Kenya Sevens skipper Humphrey Kayange, Lavin Asego and Horace Otieno all feature for the black shirts.

Mwamba, who must win this tournament to have any realistic chance of retaining the championship for the third year in a row, are grouped in Pool B alonside Quins, Mombasa Poly and Kenya Poly.
