FLOODLITS DEFENDING CHAMPIONS UNVEIL KIT
- By Louis Kisia
Mwamba RFC officially unveiled their new H2O sponsored jerseys for the season, in a small ceremony at the Railway Club that was attended by Club Chairman Mwangi Muthee, their sponsors led by H2O Chief Executive Officer Mike Rabar, Club Players and members of the press among other dignitaries. The Defending Champions of the Impala Floodlights Tournament that kicks off this weekend are keen to retain the trophy for the second year running.
“We are happy with the Sponsorship so far but the main Agenda for the season has been laid out. We want to reclaim the floodlight trophy once again and also make an impact in the Kenya Cup,” said the club captain Martin Munyasia.
Meanwhile Mwamba Coach has named a strong side that will start off their floodlight campaign tomorrow. Notably is the inclusion of the four Sevens players in the 22 man squad named, that takes on Strathmore University in the last match of the day from 7:30 PM.
Coach John Mbai said,” I believe this is one of the strongest squads we have had in a long time. We will not underrate anyone but play the rugby we know. Will also have four slots up for grabs next week when the Sevens players leave for London.”
After the removal of the schools category, the U-20’s will now fill up the slot and get an opportunity to showcase their talent in that level.
