AGE GRADE MWAMBA


Mwamba Age Grade Programme was formed in May,2008 under the Kenya Rugby Development Programme. The programme has four divisions that take care of different ages.

Teens PracticingThe ages are:

Under 10:
These are kids ranging from 6 (six) years old to 10(ten) years olds.
Under 12:
These are kids ranging from 11 and 12 ears olds.
Under 14: These are kids aged between 13 and 14 years olds.
Under 15: These kids are those who have finished primary schools and are joining form one or are in form one.


Coaches:
Adelaide Nasambu - Under 10 years
Eric Musalia - Under 12 years old
Mary Musieka - Under 14 years old

At Mwamba we have three coaches. Each coach has a specific age group as you have seen. All Age-grade coaches are IRB level one and two and some are IRB level three and hold a First Aid Certificate with AAR.

Mission:
The mission of this programme is to instill the rugby-playing culture in the youth at an early age and to create a sense of ownership of Mwamba as a club.

Objectives:
Participation of all ages. To make the game of Rugby popular to all ages. Also to make sure that girls play the game at an early age. Interaction of different kids from different backgrounds and culture.

Girl StretchingAchievements:
Mwamba Age Grade Under 14 won the Age Grade league last year which is organised by KRFU DevelopmentDepartment.

Training:
Mwamba Age Grade trains every Sunday at Mwamba Rugby Pitch. The session starts at 2.00 pm to 4.30 pm. When schools close we'll be training two days a week - that’s Tuesday and Sunday same time unless otherwise decided.

Training is free and any children who are willing to play Rugby are welcome. All they need to come with is the training kit i.e. socks, trainers, T-shirt, shorts. Children are also required to carry a packed snack.
